I LOVE Eric Whitacre's choral music - it is truly divine.  This artfully done depiction of his song "Sleep" performed by the largest virtual choir in the world shows that we are all truly connected - being alone is an illusion!!!

Thank you, Nick Vujicic!  You are an inspiration to ALL.  You make me strive to be my greatest self on a daily basis, and to truly be grateful for what I have and not take ANYTHING for granted.

I have had a long-time fascination and admiration of Helen Keller, the woman who was blind and deaf since a year of age (likely from Rheumatic fever).  Though she more than overcame her handicaps and was a valiant crusader for the blind and deaf, up until about seven years of age she could not communicate with the outside world and had no concept of language, until her teacher Miss Sullivan succeeded in teaching her the hand alphabet, a monumental task that took weeks to accomplish.  This is my all-time favorite scene from the original movie where her first word is understood - "water" - the substance of life.  Once she understands the concept that everything has a name, it sets her mind free, and she wants to know how everything is named.  This gives me such an appreciation for how important language is for being able to live the human experience.  It was only then that she could understand and appreciate an abstract concept such as "love."
